The customer contacted us for emergency water damage mitigation after an overhead plumbing leak penetrated the ceiling and wall cavities above their kitchen and adjoining utility area. Water migration had saturated the kitchen ceiling drywall and traveled downward into the utility room, threatening custom kitchen cabinetry, quartz countertops, and the utility flooring surrounding the water heater.
We executed an immediate water extraction, structural containment, and targeted drying strategy. Our technicians installed critical plastic containment barriers to protect the living space and performed precision drywall cut-outs in the kitchen ceiling to expose saturated interstitial framing, overhead ductwork, and plumbing lines. In the utility closet, we pulled baseboards and assessed moisture levels around the water heater assembly and tile subfloor. We then treated all exposed framing with an EPA-registered antimicrobial biocide to prevent microbial growth and deployed high-capacity LGR dehumidifiers alongside commercial centrifugal air movers to establish focused airflow, effectively drying the ceiling assembly and cabinetry in place.
