The customer contacted us for restoration and siding repairs after an electrical fire originated at the exterior electric meter base. Following the utility replacement of the meter box, the exterior wall was left with fire-damaged and cut-away vinyl siding, exposing underlying structural foam insulation and leaving the surrounding wall facade vulnerable to weather elements.
We provided a comprehensive exterior siding repair, weatherproofing, and reconstruction estimate. Our technicians inspected the wall elevation around the newly installed electrical disconnect panel to assess heat damage and siding cut-outs. We scoped the removal and detachment of melted and altered vinyl siding courses, prepped the exposed structural insulation board with proper weather-resistive flashing, and measured for matching replacement vinyl siding panels. Furthermore, we planned for custom J-channel trim fabrication around the utility boxes and electrical conduits to ensure an airtight, watertight seal, followed by a light chemical wash of the adjacent wall elevation to blend the repair seamlessly.
